Fluctuation instabilities via internal resonance in a multimode membrane as a mechanism for frequency combs
We study internal resonances in a membrane nanoelectromechanical system, revealing a phononic frequency comb. Using a pump-noisy-probe technique and theoretical modeling, we uncover significant squeezing, bimodality, and limit cycle formation. Our findings have implications for advanced sensing technologies and novel phononic metamaterials.
